If you have played Coyote this year, you were probably amazed at how well the course has matured the past few years. When they built Coyote they did it right. Large trees were transplanted and the landscaping was first rate. This has helped create a beautiful backdrop for great golf.
The main feature you will find at Coyote is a course that is very playable. Most golfers struggle with distances and by that we mean long par fours and par threes. With five sets of tees it is very easy to find one that fits into your game. On most of the par fours you can comfortably hit a 3 wood or long iron off the tee. But please don't let this fool you.
Although the course is friendly distance wise, you must be accurate to have a good shot at the green and then the approach shot must be well struck or you will probably find any one of the numerous hazards.Their signature hole is hole #8, a par three that plays 179 yards from the back tees. This tee shot is downhill and over a small creek to a large green with a fabulous backdrop of azaleas and other colorful vegetation. This presents a spectacular view in the spring and autumn seasons. With a carefully placed tee shot, pray for a two-putt and run away with a par.
But to tell you the truth it was really hard for us to choose a favorite. The tee shots on holes #5, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 14 and 18 are just incredible. Most of these shots aren’t difficult, but they are visually intimidating, which can cause problems for most of us. Most of the time you are left with a very reasonable approach shot, so it is not difficult to score well, you just have to stay focused and not get side-tracked by the beauty of Coyote.
The course has already become an Indiana favorite, and another big contributing factor to this is the service you’ll receive. Joel Baumgartner and his staff can accommodate every request you might have. There is not a better venue in the area to host a company outing or sponsored event. You can rest assured that your guests will walk away smiling and satisfied.
