2010 Brother-Brother ChampionshipHILTON HEAD - This spring bands of brothers from every corner of the country will once again set aside sibling rivalries and team up for a chance to claim the 2010 Brother-Brother National Championship at Bluffton’s Old South Golf Links. The 36-hole Better Ball tournament is open to any and all two-man blood brother teams, and features two divisions of play: team low net and loss gross. The event is scheduled for May 13-15.

Part golf tournament and part social gathering, the Brother-Brother event has become a yearly ritual for some brothers since its inception in 1993. For other pairs, it’s served as the common ground to repair estranged relationships.

Teaching Life Lessons through the Game of Golf

Pepsi Junior Program The Indiana Golf Foundation was formed in 1994 with the goal of investing in the future of the game of golf through a new generation of players, while at the same time celebrating the past history and accomplishments of the many who have come before.

Since 1987 the Pepsi Indiana Junior Golf Program has been providing competitive events for junior golfers in Indiana. What began with just 10 events and 200 junior golfers has evolved into one of the premier programs in the country. Today, the program includes 75 events and encompasses over 1,500 junior golfers. The program accommodates players age 8-18, and the Masters Tour gives top juniors the ability to play at a higher level of competition on courses set up similarly to what they will see at the collegiate level.

Learn to Score Better

The United States Golf Academy at the Indiana National Golf Club at Swan Lake Golf Resort in PlymouthIt is the Catch-22 of golf. If we only scored a little bit better, we’d be excited about practicing more, which would lead to even better scoring. What we probably need is obvious; some time with a teaching professional who is passionate about helping us improve our score so we can conquer that Catch-22. But we’re afraid to break the cycle. “Golf School” sounds more like prison than an opportunity for a golf epiphany.

The United States Golf Academy at the Indiana National Golf Club at Swan Lake Golf Resort in Plymouth, Indiana wants to change the way you think of “golf schools” and put you on the road to enjoying the game more than ever.

French Lick Resort Partners with PGA Tour Player Craig Bowden Print E-mail

French Lick will sponsor Craig Bowden in 2010French Lick Resort, one of the premier golf resort destinations in the country, has signed a sponsorship agreement with PGA Tour player Craig Bowden. Bowden will be the official touring pro representative for the resort during the 2010 season.

Bowden was a natural fit to represent French Lick Resort, as he was born and raised in near by Bedford, Indiana. Bowden attended college at the University of Indianapolis where he played college golf and turned professional in 1989.

Prarie View Golf ClubThe owners of Prairie View Golf Club, an 18-hole championship golf course in Carmel, Ind., recently announced that KemperSports has been selected to manage all golf course, golf academy and clubhouse operations.

The Robert Trent Jones Jr. design, which is located just 20 miles northeast of Indianapolis, is KemperSports' first property in the state. The Northbrook, Ill.-based premier golf course management company now oversees more than 90 golf courses in 29 states and Puerto Rico.

Pete Dye Course at French LickThe sprawling, visually stunning Pete Dye course at the French Lick Resort, which opened in the spring of 2009, has garnered its greatest accomplishment to date. The layout has been selected "Best New Public Course" in the country by Golf Digest and will be featured in the publication's annual review of America's Best New Courses scheduled to appear in the January 2010 issue.

The list covers the best new courses in the public, private, Canadian and remodeled categories. A panel of 950 male and female golfers conducts the annual best new survey by rating the courses based on shot values, design variety, resistance to scoring, memorability and aesthetics.

The Pete Dye Course at French Lick ResortThe award-winning French Lick Resort has once again earned national recognition from one of the country's leading golf publications.

The latest accolade comes from Golfweek magazine, which included both of the resort's courses among its prestigious annual ranking of Best Resort Courses. The new Pete Dye course, which opened this year, is ranked No. 27, and the 92-year-old Donald Ross course checks in at No.71, according to the magazine's course raters.

The First Tee IndianapolisAs its name indicates, the First Tee organization is rooted in the game of golf. Developing champion golfers is one long-term goal the organization inspires to, but more importantly, The First Tee is dedicated to cultivating character by introducing its participants to life skills and values such as integrity and honesty through the vehicle of golf.

The First Tee Indianapolis has been active since 2003, but in the fall of 2008 the organization was rebranded with a new board and new leadership. The man at the helm of this empowering organization is Brad Beck, executive director. Beck is based at Eagle Creek, a 36-hole facility on the northwest side of the city and one of the two homes for Indy’s First Tee. Whispering Hills Golf Club, which features a nine-hole course and driving range, is the other nerve center for this non-profit entity.

2009 U.S. Senior Open Crooked StickCARMEL – Calling all junior artists!  The 2009 U.S. Senior Open is seeking the help of junior artists to design the championship’s official poster.  The poster theme is “Golf is for everyone.”  Students interested in participating must be enrolled in kindergarten through 5th grade and live in Indiana.

One winner will be selected from each grade level, and a grand prize winner will be selected from those finalists.  Each grade level winner will receive a prize package including championship tickets, merchandise and a framed copy of their poster autographed by Pete Dye, 2009 U.S. Senior Open Honorary Chairman.

2009 U.S. Senior Open Crooked StickGroup ticket packages for the 30th U.S. Senior Open Championship, to be held July 27 – August 2, 2009 at Crooked Stick Golf Club, are now on sale. Groups can select from four ticket packages priced between $3,000 and $750. All options include complimentary parking and shuttle transportation to the main admission gate.

The first option, the Stars and Stripes package, provides eighteen (18) upgraded Pete Dye Club Weekly Tickets, six (6) preferred parking passes, eighteen (18) program vouchers and recognition on the championship Web site. The Stars and Stripes package is priced at $3,000.
